does anyone have any experience with the eclipse ZA1200? i know their older amps were nice but how does this one fare? how does the ice technology work?

Its trash. IDK how they got it cea compliant but it defiantly doesn't do rated power. I had one, I figured it would be cool to power my subs with an eclipse amp, because I already had an eclipse ea4100 powering my cabin speakers. The ea4100 was great. The za1200 was not. Ran hot, even though I had it running at 4 ohms. I figured it would 'sound better' because it was ran at a 4 ohm load. But I sold it on craigslist, and bought a sundown1200d and ran it at 1 ohm. better in EVERY way possible.

Wow really? I heard such good things about their older amps, why would their quality take a dive like that

Someone very knowledgeable about the amp industry, said they shared that with Alpine. Could explain why many people have voiced some audible loss in clarity or quality.
