Eclipse? Ipod? Compatible?

Was reading the Car Audio & Electronics magazine and saw the ad of Ipod2car Gen2 and it says in there ad that Eclipse Headunits are now compatible.

This is the adapter:

In their info there it does not yet say about Eclipse headunits but it does say in there ad at the magazine.

Anyone out there knows anything about ipod and eclipse being compatible?

i don't think that particular adapter will.. the brands listed there are the ones that have adapters themselves(made by alpine, pioneer,etc) you could get a rca - 3.5jack.. or get an itrip.

what eclipse do you have? when i had my 8453 i used the eclipse made mini to cd changer input wire.

edit: whoops, i combined my alpine 9853 and eclipse 8445 to get a 8453, i meant to say i used the adapter with my 8445.

I dont have an ipod "yet" but i want it to charge, able to change tracks off my headunit, and all that other goodies.

yea. i like my alpine/alipine adapter. it's so sick seeing the alpine logo on the ipod screen.

i really like being able to control everything from my ipod because i know where everything is, but that is me. i have the same thing in my boat as i do in my truck. i have to charge mine about once a week. 20 hour battery life, so i usually ahve new music anyway so i just update it and leave it plugged into my computer.

the fm transmitter sounds worse than radio.

In my last car, my installer ran RCAs from my 5V preamp output on the back of the HU to the bottom dish of my DIN kit. I went to Best Buy and purchased a set of Belkin wires that converted the 2 channel RCAs to a single input for the iPod. It sounded excellent, but I had to control the ipod via the ipod - itd be nice to have my HU control the ipod instead.

yea so i guess ill chill for a while in buying an ipod and just wait till eclipse catches up with the other big boys. i heard they tend to be the last ones in the newer technology thats coming out.

20 hrs on your ipod? wow, i have trouble making mine last a whole shift, but then again i am always bumpning the songs foreward to find something i wanna listen to.

how do you get your ipod to charge from the computer after you are done updating it? once mine is done updating it it dosent charge anymore.

with the back light on, and searching for songs every now and then while i drive, it probably lasts for 15-18 hours realistically. 20 hours or more with the back light off if i just let it play. with my old ipod, 1st gen, it lasted me through 19 hours of travel to europe.

the ipod i have now is the ipod video, way better battery life, just better all around.

if i just leave it plugged in, it charges. maybe try leaving it connected to itunes, dont disengage it.

i have tried that to no avail. o well no big deal i usually plug it in to charge every other day. another reason i have bad battery life is that i play solitare on break and that makes the back light come one(i work 3rd shift and sit in my car )
