I installed the avn5510 in my truck today I hooked up the 12v, the acc, ground and I ran the front speaker wires. The unit powers up but I have no sound.Anyone know why? DO I have to connect the vss and/or the parking ground to get sound to work? I also tried to play the a DVD and it was running but the picture did not show. I have had Pioneer A/V units and i have tricked it by installing the electonic bypass.. Can an eclipse be tricked? Can I just ground the parking brake?

Grounding the parking brake wire should work fine and as far I know the vss only needs to be hooked up to use the gps function. As to why you're not getting sound, what year and model truck is it? And judging from your post, I can't tell if you literally ran all new wires to the speakers or if you simply connected the harness?
