eclipse cd8455 or alpine cda-9835

The CD8455 does have some badass tuning features... 3-way mode, full manual TA, etc, as does the Alpine as far as I know, but I think it will be universally agreed upon that the Eclipse will give superior SQ to the Alpine.

I haven't experienced the 9835 yet (friend just recently bought one so i might play with it a lil bit) but i have the 8455 and it is an excellent deck. the 8v/55ohm can't be beat. 10 band EQ on pro mode in which if you have a active front stage you have a dedicated 5 band eq for each the mids and the tweets. If you got the cash, the cd8455 isn't a bad option (an excellent one actually).

I don't see how it could. The 8455 crossover can be set to any frequency at 6,12,18, and 24db slopes on all channels. It even allows for bandpassing. You are limited at first through the deck, but the E-iserve allows for any setpoint via the customize feature. So, please explain how the apine crossover is better.

So?

The 9835 can as well...and if you add the H701 outboard processor, you're looking at a combination that has the flexibility of a P9 combo for half the price.

How much do H701's usually run for anyways? Ive been thinking of scooping up a 7995 and one of those, and of course those badass controllers for the h701 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but that doesn't prove that the 9835 has a better active crossover as you claimed in your first post. I'm talking about the unit itself, not a HU with an outboard processor.

Another advantage of the Eclipse is that the parametric processor is independent on each preout, meaning if you were ever to bi-amp a set of components, you'll have more control over the tonality on each driver.
