Ok - you're using iTunes as your utility to burn .cda files then. I read it simply as you're using iTunes to burn to CD-R media (as everyone is either using CD-R or CD-RW discs it never occured to me you meant something else)CDR burns are like an audio cd that is universally readable...
you can also burn in MP3 off of itunes and it won;t read it.
I did not secure the externl brain, i just left it behind the dash loose...
I changed my battery recently and lost all lthe settings, and it still won't read CD-Rs.Hitting the reset problem solved my 8454's problem reading burned CDs. It will clear all of your settings though, so you might want to write them down.
