Eclipse CD8445 Sec Problem

All,

I am looking for some help. I recently had to put a new alternator in my car and took out the battery in doing so. So my CD8445 wanted the security CD after the power was hooked up again. That's fine, I have the disc ready but the unit won't accept a CD. It had a CD in it before I disconnected the battery, but it won't eject the CD to accept the security CD.

I tried resetting the unit with the reset button but that doesn't help. I called Eclipse and they said I need to send it in for $160, which is totally not worth it.

Does anyone know of any other ways around this. If you want to make this a private conversation please PM me.

I will defiantly take the unit apart myself before I send it in for $160.

theres 2 bottons you have to hold and the cd pops out its botton 6 i think cant remember the other its been years since i last had to do it eclipses had told me how over the phone back then goodluck man.

Thanks for the help t3, I think the button you were referring to was the FUNC + 6 button. That combination of buttons is used for other functions when setting the security on the CD8445.

I tried those buttons and nothing happened. Just out of curiosity, t3, did you have the same problem as me. Cause when I called Eclipse, they weren't that helpful.

Any one got anything for me. I really would like a easy way to solve this problem.

i did have the same thing happen i had a differnt cd in it when i unpluged it so i had to get the cd out they told me what to press but like i said i cant remember what bottons it was what does the screen say when you power it up

It says SEC for 2 secs then it changes to DISC and when I press the eject button, it opens but doesn't eject the CD. There is also a little bar preventing a CD to be inserted into the slot. Could it be another button that needs to be pressed with the 6 button to get the CD out?
