Eclipse cd8443 and Eclipse 2301 DSP/EQ

I have an eclispe cd8443 head unit with dsp/eq function. I was wondering does anyone know what the differences are between the dsp/eq functions inside the hu and the eclipse 2301 dsp/eq module, like functions, capabilities, etc.. Any benefit in getting the 2301? I really haven't figured out the best way to set the functions on this hu. Its seems pretty complex. Anyone with experience with these?

usually you only get an external EQ if your headunit does not provide those functuins. In your case, your HU does. so skip the external EQ.
