Eclipse CD7000 Vs. Alpine 7998/9835

there's a lot of things to consider here. overall there's no doubt IMO, that the eclipse cd7000 is better. 10 band PEQ, real time tuning, attenuation of the front/rear/sub all the way down to -30db, 5v preout, 55 ohm input impedance but of course at a much steeper price at around $650 retail compared to a used 7998, 9835 which can be around the forums for $300-350. Those alpine HUs are solid and are well worth it. it just depends on your setup. also cosmetics is a huge issue to some people and although the Cd7000 is *******, the alpine HUs are hard to beat cosmetically.

game set match

Yea, I've been an Alpine fan eversince I had a 9815 on my last car and eversince then I always wanted another Alpine but to see the 06 line-up of Alpine are considerably dissappointing compare to the last I went with the Eclipse.

Now i see ppo are selling their 9835/7998 makes me wanna sell the Eclipse and buy one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.....want to know if its dumb decision.

7998 is a lot better than the 9815/35 afaik... they have better SQ and slightly better sound tuning options aswell... but that's a tough challenge... all hus are amazingly good...

i love Alpine, but i want to try Eclipses too =[

AFAIK, being a 7998 owner, the 9835 offers the same tuning features. To be honest, I can't think of any differences as far as options go. Besides the 7988 being a "dead head" and selling for $800 in its hey-day. Now whether or not the 7998 "sounds" better is completely subjective.

well im sure it had better internal components... i've heard from several people it offered a much cleaner signal than other alpines did... but well
You're a joke. You haven't heard them side by side, and if you did... I bet you $100,000 you couldn't tell me which one was which in a blindfolded A/B comparison...

So cut the shit.
