Any good? I am looking for a reliable hu that will not skip under pressure. I have 4 Orion P Series 15's and when i turned the volume up(not even to normal listening volume) my JVC KD-LH 2000 would skip like crazy. So will this be a good upgrade from the JVC. Or is it at least comparable, i have never used Eclipse HU's i know all their other stuff is quality so tell me what you think. P.S. The main concern is that it will not skip.

Yes, i love my 5435. It is a great h/u that gives me amazing output. Have not skipped out on me. the max volume is like 80 and i get around 50 on it. And Yes, Eclipse h/u are higher quality than JVC. Alot of people are satisfied with there Eclipse H/U.

just a question is your hu installed right ? friend of mine had a similar situation and it was from his hu not being installed right. it was loose from the backside. so small bumps and large bass hits would make his cd player do something odd things.

see if you can play with one of the eclipses you mentioned. to get a feel for it then you can make your decision if you like it or not.

The 5435 has 5V preouts, so it's ahead of the game as far as that goes, I'm running a 5445 with the 8V preouts, and had to turn all my gains waaaaay down to compensate from the Alpine's 2V to the Eclipse's 8V.

Another bump to the Eclipse. A second thought here is to find a MB Quart marine cd player. It had a 5 volt preout on it + a 30 second anti skip buffer. You could roll a vehicle end to end and that sucker would not miss a beat. Same with the older Panasonic Rebel gear (but it's output voltage sucked arse).
