I thought I was. Better quality in every way is pretty specific in my opinon. For a more detailed response check the other thread where you questioned me.

Like I said in the other thread, all mfgs have gone downhill quality wise in the past few years. Eclipse, Pioneer, Alpine...etc. That is why the older decks are better. Build quality alone makes them higher quality units. I already explained why the 8053 was better thant he 8455 in that other thread. Go read that.

Only difference is that the 8053 had balanced lines. Nothing else has changed other than the face cosmetics of the deck. Same DAC, same twin DSP chips-same tuning options. I found no SQ differences between my 8443 and my 8455.

I agree completely; however, Max, you would agree that the DSP features with respect to tuning are far superior in the 8455 (the crossover alone stomps the 8443 - I have owned both, too). Adam, you are spouting nonsense.

I heard a 8053 and to be honest i really didnt see too many differences between them.........i just prefer the cosmetics of the 8445 and 8455 rather than the 8053

Seriously, what did you listen to this deck with?? Your system.? Anyway I can't believe ANYONE would like the looks of the new decks compared to the 8053. Nah i didint listen to it with my system........I just like the red because it matches my truck.............I do think it looks better tho

I wanted to get the 8454, but the 8455 was offered to me for 320 shipped, and well I couldnt pass it up lol. The more I look at it, the more I like it. 8455 I love thee

Seriously though, I'm just saying I think the 8053 is a better deck because I'm a purist. I prefer seperate components over all in one decks any day of the week. The less going on in one chassis the better.
