You can turn Pro Mode on an off. If you turn Pro Mode off, then yes, any of it's settings do not affect the sound.

Check and make sure the Loudness is not on. Go to normal mode and hold the volume dial down for more than a second to make sure. The factory default is ON....which always pisses me off whenever I disconnect the battery!!

Thanks bud, I think that was it! The Loudness was on, and when I truned it off it sounded much better. I will do a better test tomorrow, but its too late to be bumping out in the driveway tonight lol. Thanks!

sound is different to all of us, but i would be willing to bet that something wasnt setup correctly. go for the reference dc's and see what you think.

What I meant was C2K series....which is just pure American made balls IMO...nothing fancy, just really great performance and really great sound!!

And about that loudness B.S.....that's really the only thing that I have issues with the 8053...it's a minor insignificance really, but there have been times when I forgot to turn it off after repowering my deck and had that sinking feeling that something was wrong...only to later realize that it loudness was on!!!
