Eclipse Avn7000

I've been thinking about buying this for my car? Anyone have any complaints about it? Is there any other hu's out there that can compare with this feature wise that you think is better? I need a something with navigation..dvd..good ipod interface....and great sq of course....

i have mine ordered....i think its only 2v preouts but with some sort of additional unit you can up that to 6v or something along those lines

If you want an ipod interface, the avn 7000 is not the monitor to go with. It was not designed with ipod in mind.

What if you get the ipc-106 with it....does that help it?

No. When you use the IPC-106 it comes through as either a cd changer, or sirius. It does not come up as ipod. You can't search through any menus, or find any songs on the ipod. About the only thing you can do is see the display info, and change to the next/last track. If you listened to playlists, then it would be fine, but if you want to scroll through or control and ipod, then you should just hook up a 3.5 mm jack to the A/V input for sound.

If you go to the eclipse site, there is no mention of ipod anywhere on the page for the avn7000. Only info is to tell you how to get sound through when you have sirius and ipod hooked up together. In either the sirius mode, or cdchanger mode the controls are basically not there.

Is there anything that eclipse has that's similar to the 7000 that actually has a good ipod interface or from a different company???...Because I want one where you can search through songs/artist everything on the screen of the hu just like you would be able to if u were searching on the ipod (if that makes sense)...

How about the pioneer z2??...is that supposed to be good?

The AVN5495 stores regular cd's not mp3s on its HD. The best ipod interface through an eclipse radio is with the AVN 6600 and 6610 that I have seen. Those two work really well with the IPC106. I'll be getting the 6610 for my wife's odyssey soon.

The Z2 works about the same as the 6610 does with the Ipod. the only problem i have with both is the time it takes to scroll through the menu. It has a delay to load the info on the screen. But, they all do, for the most part.

I have heard good things about the ipod interface on the clarion, and kenwood units, but I have no personal experience with either.

Hold on. I thought it said on crutchfield that the avn7000 stores mp3s? or is it cds? I was just about to purchase this because I thought I could store a couple thousand songs on the hard drive. But if they dont take mp3s it's not gonna work for me.
