I powered the headunit on for the first time and inserted the navi cd for it to load but for some reason its not recognizing the navi cd mdv-78d

Did you insert it in the top slot or bottom..... it needs to be in the bottom from what I remember.

ya ..remove disc.... unplug unit give it a few minutes. plug it back in, this time when you are prompted insert it in the lower disc reader..

why arent you using the disc that came with the unit?

i am using the disc that came with it which is mdv-78d. And i have been putting it in the bottom slot. I disconnected the battery yesterday and ran through the first loading part. It allowed me to chose the language for the navigation, then after that it said that it could not find the map cd.

anyone else? it says unable to read map dvd. check if map dvd is correct.
