Eclipse and ATRAC3 on the Memory Stick

Is there a certain folder that the ATRAC3 formatted file needs to be placed on the memory stick in order for an Eclipse HU (specifically CD7000) to recognize it's existence. Tech support says that it needs only to be placed in the root of the stick, not in any folder for it to play. Trying to find it if it's a location problem or a formatting problem. Thanks

crutchfield just says cd/mp3/wma, are you sure it plays atrac-3?

i thought only sony devices could play atrac-3

and i've never heard of atrac 1, 2, or any of the variations of them being used on anything but a minidisc
