eclipse 8455 pro mode - non-fader level?

ok, results are in........I unhooked the sub amp....and adjusted Bass level from -6 to +6 and back......it does effect the mids.....so not really a viable solution to adjusting sub level.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

alphakenny1......I have the 8455 in a 98 accord like yours...... did the ultra sick mount...right in the middle of the opening, w/ plexi flushmount (back painted black). I'll have some pics of it up in my gallery tomorrow if you care to see.

took a few pics just now....when the face is open, like to put in a cd or ms, the deck is completely flush with the 1/4"plexi....when the face is closed, the face only sticks out. I mounted it last night where the deck was completely flush with the plexi when the face was closed, but the face wouldn't open, so I trimmed away at the opening with my router table, and by the time the face opened freely, the gaps above and below the deck looked hideous, so I went with the current mount.....pics are in my gallery....let me know what ya think...

The actual bass setting affects the entire signal , for sub level adjustments do as alpha said the Time Alignment from -0 to - 30 db is what I use on my 8454 . I leave my bass seeting at 0 and use the time alignment.

The lack of non-fader being on the nob in pro mode is the only thing i don't like about my CD8454. I WISH i could leave the tonal adjustment to my PEQ and use Bass/Mid/Treble to adjust volume of my 3 output pairs but...alas, eclipse was smoking some good shit when they designed this one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif On the plus side, if you set up pre-sets from the PEQ screen (hold numbers 1-5 down to set, tap to recall) (Thanks kenny, you ninja) it will save not only your PEQ settings but also your X-Over's and the TA settings (both delay and volume). I've got all 5 used and need more, though... i'm usually very hands-on about my bass volume level //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I'm a couple weeks in with this deck now and have adjusted the freak SUB-L AND SUB-R up and down so much now that i'm getting quick at it. Kinda sick considering you can't even hold the seek button to make it increase or decrease the level repeatedly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I really love the sound of eclipse decks versus par say my friends pioneer 860 his is much more simplied and easy to use with mroe features i liek than my eclipse but my sound just seems much more lively . Although I dont think he has his deck tuned like it should. But I may try the new pioneer 880PRS

Makes me glad that I bought a remote sub level control for my 1100d5. Mark
I've actually got a little 'bass nob' in-line attenuator for RCA'S...but i've got my double din stuffed with my empeg AND the deck so there's nowhere convenient to put it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I'll probably get it hooked up at some point (when i figure out where to mount it without destroying my dash lol)

Navone unit? I was looking at one of those if I couldn't find a good deal on a remote sub level unit. Mark

Eclipse wasn't smoking anything. That is the whole purpose of a three way system. If the channels were left with a simplified treble, mid, bass, and low then the HU would affect all channels when going active. Think of it this way. One individual runs front stage only on one set of rca and mid bass only on the other. Anothe individual may tune the front stage down to accept some midrange deepending on the speakers used.

your best bet is using presets for diff bass levels or do the remote gain thing...me I dont do the up the up/down sub thing all day...I find a point where it blends in with the front stage and a call it a day. Yes it sucks, but i dont think Eclipse was smoking anything- once in Pro Mode that deck becomes a 'tuner's deck'.
