eclipse 8443

i thought you had to actually send the CD player to Eclipse for them to do it.

NO, you will get a rolling code from Eclipse to unlock the deck IF:

you are the registered owner(either original owner who registered or, if you bought it used, the original owner updated the info with Eclipse)

Eclipse will not just give anybody the rolling code over the phone without going through some security checks first.

That said, SOME of the first runs of 8443s/8053s had ESN issues(locking up when power was cut even if ESN had not been engaged).

The later runs were fine from what I can see.

from what the local car audio guy told me was that u needed to write down the code off ur security cd ( the cd in which the cd player locked up you would be able to unlock it) the code would be located on the bottom of the cd in the middle of the CD. I guess with that code u may be able to enter it into the CD player or try to insert that CD to unlock it. Ive never really played wit the eclipse when this has happen but jus by what the car audio guy told me when i was going to get a eclipse deck. He also told me that if the radio is like stolen like three times or sumtin it will completely lock up and then they would have to send it off to eclipse. But most likely take it to ur local eclipse dealer and ask them

Um, the ESN security doesn't work how your local car audio guy states.

ESN works by saving the cd info onto the HU. The operator chooses his own cd. If the guy sells eclipse, then he is either very ignorant or chooses not to read any of the literature provided to him. I would seriously suggest that you avoid ever purchasing from that guy again.
