I can both the 5444 and the 5425 brand new for within 40 dollars of eachother (5444 is 40 bucks more). Which should i go for? I have EF-61 CDT components btw. Speaker bass and deep/strong midrange is a must!!! I don't need crazy audiophile EQ stuff, just basic settings in order to get these speakers sounding good and right. So which do i go for? BTW the 5444 is a semi PITA to get, i have to paypal the guy money and wait for him to buy it and ship it to me, with the 5425 i can just go to the store and buy it.

are u gonna run the comps off the hu? please dont...
but erm get the more expensive version?

No way man, i have a Nine.2 for the speakers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif The final price is 200 for the 5425, 245 for the 5444. But with the 5444, i have to get it shipped to me, and its kind of a hassle and it might take a week. Im just trying to see if its worth the exta 45 dollars + hassle + wait.

The 5425 does not have a remote and AUX input. - Have to buy sepThe 5435 has AUX in and a remote. You can change the colors too.

Umm, thats not what i asked. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif I asked between the 5425 and the 5444.

Pleaes can anyone help!! First of all i heard from a poster here that the 5444 has terrible midbass, and i wanna make sure thats not a regular review of them. I am ordering/buying one tommorow, this is why i need an answer! Ive searched and done everything!

wow, noone? I also saw a post saying that the 5444 has no midbass in it, any validity to that?
I would say there is no validity to that. Eclipse makes excellent sounding decks from their entry level to their top models.

I assume you are the same person who posted this question on SD a couple of hours ago(and then complained that nobody had posted a reply "all day?").

I said there and I will say here, since the 5444 is a PITA to get, just go with the 05 5V deck. Also, if you have the authorized dealer install it, your warranty goes from 1 year to 3 years(best factory warranty available on a head unit).

Well its not that much of a PITA to get anymore, i found out i could just order it direcly from the store on monday. Also, do you think i would benefit from the 7 band EQ vs. the 3 band? I don't really have that high standards, it just HAS to have good midrange and midbass controls, and have a rich sounding midrange. If you think the 5444 is harder to use and get sounding good, and the 5425 will be fine, then ill go with the 5425 and save myself the 50 bucks.

Yes that was me as well on SD. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

You are thinking about this WAY too much. Eclipse makes excellent decks so either should sound, well, excellent(any eclipse I ever had did). I would probably still go with the 05 eclipse. I believe the 5444 has the memory card feauture(which you don' t need). Get the 5425 and use the extra money to pay for the install(dash kit, labor, etc) to bump the warranty to 3 years(and you then also get a 1 year theft warranty).

If you wanna know why i am thinking this through, its becuase i am paranoid. My Alpine CDA 7893 that i have right now sounds fantastic, but there is no midrange control, and midbass is also lacking. Ive gone through lots of speakers, and even with my CDT's it just doesn't sound right down low (i have a sub, but thats besides the point). Thats why i have these wierd requirements for good speaker bass and good midrange. It gets depressing when my friend's Pioneer HU running shitty pioneer coaxils sounds fuller and richer than my CDT components amped from a Nine.2 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

BTW here's the guy who said there was no midbass.
http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=105683&highlight=5444+bass

I Pmed the guy but he didn't respond yet.
I just replied to your post on SD. That guy's post is pretty much meaningless. He got suggestions on things to check(xovers, etc), but he never came back to say what he did. Do you think Eclipse just makes decks that don't reproduce certain parts of the frequency range? That wouldn't make any sense.

I replied back. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Lets just keep it on this forum, its confusing jumping back and forth. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif I hope you understand my concerns though, because my Alpine rules with highs, but sucks with lows.
