Eclipse 5425 vs Alpine 9847 -- Kenwood

Any thoughts guys? Was about to buy the Alpine when the salesman said the quality went to crap.

Everyone seems to agree that SQ of Eclipse is great, but if you dont run an amp off of it is it worth looking at that Christmas tree like face since one of its advantages is the quality of the pre outs?

Finally, Kenwood's stated RMS of 22 is slightly higher than some of the others, does this give the advantage to Kenwood if you are going to run coaxils? Is Kenwood crap or decent quality?

i have the 5425 and hate it cuz of the cross overs **** on it it does sound good but i cant wait to get my replacemnt 860 from ikesound

the new Kenwood Excelons kick some *** this year

The one Caraudioraffle sent me smoked my Alpine 9830 in the SQ dept

and it has a better looking faceplate

I would have never guessed...........

I would go with eclipse. Even if you are not going to use the pre outs yet, it is worth it since you may run amps later(and I bet it sounds great even with just the internal amp).
