Ebay mufflers

Hey, what do you think about those mufflers that people are selling on ebay for 40-60$. Does anybody here have any experience with them. Im looking to get a dual tip one. Im not a big fan of 4in dia cans that when i pull up next to you, you think that the hells angels just pulled up right beside you.

It's just another fart cannon. It is very misleading to call these things "mufflers", because in no way do they actually muffle the sound.

haha yeah i know, but i just want to know about build quality and if there is a big quality difference in a name brand and the "brand name style" that you can get on ebay

Dude just get a whole catback exhaust for your 91 stealth. If this is for your stealth. It would benefit greatly from it. And sound kindof beefy.

Oh and i will laugh at you if you buy one of those fart cannons

Get something that's straight through. Turbos benefit tremedously w/ straight throughs vs. chambered mufflers. I've been using the Dynomax ultraflo for about a year and couldn't be happier - especially for $40 shipped. It's 2-1/2 in, 2-1/2 out.

No its not turbo. I just want something to make a little bit more noise. My friend got this muffler and it makes just the sweetest sounding rumble that ive heard so far.

Get some flowmasters or something - and I think you might get a little better tone if you get something that's about 2-1/2" outlet. I don't know though - I bought my exhaust for performance - not sound.

Honestly, don't buy exhaust just to make more noise. If it's not going to give you a performance gain, don't make it any louder. The world has enough fart cannons and obnoxiously loud vehicles as it is. Please, listen to reason on this one.

go with a magnaflow catback or an HKS those sound real good

I bought the muffler for my 03 Eclipse on ebay. It came just as described. It came equipt with a silencer which comes in handy in my area were cop can be real assholes. But take the silencer off and its pretty loud. When I took it to get it installed the welder commented that I got a great deal for it. I bought it about 7 months ago so I dont know who I got it from but it was on ebay. As far as performance, they claim 10-15 more hp, but in actuality you only get 2-3 hp at the wheel.

Use the silencer at all times, because the cops aren't the assholes. The people who think their stupidly loud exhaust makes them cool are the assholes. It's a worse problem around here than people bumping their stereos too loud.

True. I know they are just doing their job. Just pointing out that some cops will use your muffler as an excuse to pull you over. Once they have that excuse it usually leads to "do you mind if I search your vehicle."

....I'm lookin at gettin into a custom cat-back @2.25 with a patriot resonator and a DNX twin muffler set up.....hell I got all winter to put it together.........go to summitsportcompact.com and check pt#WLK-38413.............this is on a 91 nissan nx2000....best factory year for the sr20 engine.........I've heard these mufflers and after the break-in period (around 500mi.) they sound just right..........good luck....lotta choices out there....
