Ebay? Is it really trustworthy?

Seriously, what gives? What is the catch?

You see a "New" amplifier or subwoofer listed on Ebay for close to 30-40% less than its usual listing price at other reputable online sites such as Crutchfield, Sonic Electronix, and the usual.

It seems almost too good to be true so I must ask from an experienced community, are these unusually low prices the result of reselling faulty, refurbished products under the guise of new products.

Or are these sales completely legit and reliable investment for the car audio shopper?

legit, i bought my speakers off there, and have a friend that bout subs, amp, etc. all in manufacture packageing, just make sure it's like 'new' or whatever, not refurbished etc.

but they get over stock for wholesale prices usually and resell it out from what i understand

ebay is a risk... but you get screwed by Paypal...the most trusted online payment site IN THE WORLD!!... wayyy to many loopholes. They cover their Asz every way they can.. PM me if you wanna hear what their Rep told me is a LEGAL scam

The thing is expect to have no customer service if you buy from ebay
for sure!! forgot to mention that ha, took like 3 weeks to get my stuff shipped because they "weren't getting all the emails i sent" and had technical difficulties, etc. but in the end it was worth it

This is kind of a vague question. You don't buy from eBay, you buy from sellers. If the seller has a good reputation, then there isn't too much of a risk most of the time. However. I rarely deal with any individual people. I only buy from eBay stores. A tad more expensive, but still cheaper than a lot of other places

It is all about who you are dealing with. I have been buying and selling on ebay since 2001. And the majority of my transactions have gone smoothly. I have been burned before I knew better by a ******* using a stolen credit card, and now i only shipp to verified addresses to cover myself. I have paid for items and never recieved them, but I was able to recover most of the money through paypal. I have done an estimated 200 transactions including 2 large cash purchases (vehicles) and have had 3 bad experiences. The money you save on the deals is hard to pass up. Just check feedback before bidding or set up buyer qualifications for the stuff your selling and you should be good.

you'll usually find the best prices on ebay, and your experience depends on the individual seller, if you're considering something expensive i would message the seller about it's condition and see how they respond, if at all. if they're helpful that's a good sign you'll have a good transaction and their product is most likely reliable.

i love ebay. i have used one particualr ebay store for a few years now and LOVE it. super cheap prices on kicker equipment as well as others and he bends over backwards to help me out when i need something. i have bought from several people on ebay and all worked out great for me. i just use this store now because of the service they give after the sale. store name is woosatech
