Easiest way to transfer large amounts of data between computers?

Not gonna work for a direct connection from pc to pc. A crossover cable (as shava mentioned) is the only way. Crossover cables aint cheap.
Are you kidding? Check Wal-Mart and stuff I've found them for $3 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Agreed crossover cables are cheap and normal wont cost any more then a normal ethernet cable. Mainly because it the same thing just wires in a different order.

TBH, I have no respect for you for posting anything with the geeksquad logo on it. They overcharge for EVERYTHING and that doesn't make a crossover cable expensive, it makes their LOGO expensive. Just like $100 Monster HDMI cables are no better than the $10 HDMI cables on the internet.

And I hope you don't consider $9 expensive, but that's besides the point. I was in Wal-Mart and I bought a crossover cable for $3 + tax. It wasn't a Belkin either, it was in one of those little buggies that they put generic crap in, and in the case of a crossover cable, generic is all you need. Hell, you could probably go to Dollar Tree and get one, they have a whole aisle of cheap computer crap at the one around here (blank Sony disks, headphones, mics, cat5 and probably crossovers, but I've never looked for them there). When you need cheap, hit up the stores that are cheap, not Best Buy you retard.

EDIT:

Also: Cheap, even with the $5 shipping, but those are the ones that were at wal-mart

Thank You. I make my own cables usually because its free (work supplies). Crossover cables cost the same.

What right do you have talking about networks? Do you buy network stuff or work with it on a regular basis? Because I do, it's my job........... and a crossover cable is a network cable just prong'd differently.
