I have a 97 Civic and apparently Honda shuts off ACC power once the key is off. I need it to keep power to charge my phone and what not. What is the easiest way to go about getting constant 12v power to the ACC plug?
That could possibly drain your battery pretty bad, there's a reason the manufacturer designed it like that.Yeah.
I feel like someone with upgraded electrical would know how to answer this question regardless... Not that everyone could, but most could I bet.on a standard car they say just leaving the charger plugged in is bad, let alone charging something but if you got upgraded elec. doesn't matter...
This is a completely different car, the manufacturer designed it the way they did for a reason.I've had probably 10 different GM vehicles that all leave power to 12v acc/cigarette lighter with the car off. I use o have my XM, cell phone and whatever else on constantly and never had power drain issues.
me too... until the one time it did cause a problem then boom 220 out my pocket...I've had probably 10 different GM vehicles that all leave power to 12v acc/cigarette lighter with the car off. I use o have my XM, cell phone and whatever else on constantly and never had power drain issues.
Its designed that way because that is whats common in Japan, not the US.This is a completely different car, the manufacturer designed it the way they did for a reason.
It has much less power needs than your average GM vehicle, plus why do you need to charge your phone when you're not in it?Its designed that way because that is whats common in Japan, not the US.
If the battery dies away from home I don't want to sit in my car with the key on just to charge a cell phone battery. It has much less power needs than your average GM vehicle, plus why do you need to charge your phone when you're not in it?
Really? You think one of the best selling cars in the US is designed with the Japanese market in mind? Its designed that way because that is whats common in Japan, not the US.
