What you fail to realize is, you're just as bad as the tree hugging hippies. You'll go out of your way to consume more power (which will only cost you more) just in an attempt to make a point when I doubt the hippies are concerned with one jackass still waving around the confederate flag.

Personally I wasn't even aware of this earth day idea. I don't think turning off the power for one hour will fix anything but the idea itself of saving energy, isn't all that crazy.

Who the fawk cares? Humans will die off eventually, and the earth will go right back to how it was. Why do people think they are so special? They are no match for the earth.

If humans are still here in 1,000 years and have blown the world up, killed each other to extinction, etc, Im sure the Earth will get very hot. Then after its done getting hot, it will get hit by another ice age. Thats just how shit happens. Its a cycle. We cant control it.

Even then, does it really matter? By the time anything drastic would happen, it would be hundreds of years and we would all be long gone along with a couple generations after us. So the Earth heats up... Its the tiniest speck in this universe. Will existence cease to be if the equivalent of a grain of sand in the universe raises 10 degrees? All the billions years the universe has been around plants have came, planets have gone. Eventually this planed is just going to be swallowed by the sun (if it makes it that long), so why even bother? Humanuty and the planet we live on is so small in the bigger picture of things, why should anyone even care?

Nothing in our lives will change. Nothing in our kids lives will change. Nothing in their kids lives will change. And so on for a couple more generations. So who the fawk cares?

Those tree hugging hippies are having this Earth Hour to try to prove a point. I had all my lights on to prove a point. Their little event did not matter one single bit in the overall scheme of things. My little event did not matter one single bit in the overall scheme of things. The thing is, my little event isn't part of a useless solution to a imaginary problem (aka man made global warming/global cooling/global climate change/fad term of the month).

I can afford to turn on all my lights and have a higher electric bill if I chose too, so its fine if I have a higher bill, again, if I choose too.

Funny thing is that people say sh!t like we will never run out of oil or global warming is a myth.

does that really matter? sure the earth will survive with out humans. but you are not the ones that are going to suffer, it will be your children and if not it certainly will be your grand children.

Earth hour isn't as much about actually saving the energy as it is making an attempt to do so. Hippy or not, making a better world for the children is what it is all about.

Although, if you are a child yourself or a hillbilly, then I guess just live for the now.
