I dont think it cracked during shipping, something would have to be ran into or dropped on the cone itself to make a crack like that, and if that was the case the top peice of particle board would be broken too.

The crack was there when I bought it.... I got it from a friend of mine. The motor detached from the basket and f'd the sub up. Recone time.
