how much was the carpet? i went to look at sum vinyl today to cover my box and its like 8 bux a yard, and id need 4 yards, but i dont wanna spend 32 bucks on sum vinyl

 
It was around $12. Don't remember how long the

roll was though....

Yeah I was debating the vinyl thing myself.

But im going to make a box for my 2 12's and i realy dont kno wut to do, they are alpine type r's how hard is it to port a box is all it is is making a hole in the box ?

It's a little more than just a hole in the box.

Think of a port more like a tunnel that goes into

the box not just a hole.

There are formulas that determine the size and

length of a port for a specific subwoofer depending

on the tuning freq you choose.

They're not too hard to make, but you need to do

some homework before slapping one together or

it will sound like garbage.

Ported boxes ARE harder to make than sealed one's

but the increased SPL from ported boxes is well worth

the extra work!
