dynaudio vs rainbow...

i've heard dynaudio but havent got a chance to listen to rainbow. i'm in the market for a 2-way component. i need a tweet that's airy but not harsh, solid midbass, and open midrange. i can get a decent deal on some dynaudio 242's from an authorised dealer. i also have the option of upgrading to a better crossover and tweet(x280 crossover-md130 tweeter). for a 100 bucks more i can upgrade the dynaudio's which will make the rainbow's a little cheaper. i just came across the rainbow profi vanadium kicks. i wanna know which speaker will sound best at high spl levels and totally rock for metal. also, is the vanadium kick crossovers biampable? i will be powering these with a zapco refrence 4.1000

Dyns are probably my favorite speaker, i cannot comment on those components but the rainbows ive heard were good but nothing compared to dyns.

Based on what your looking for I would go with the dyns, they have smooth tweets, great midbass with enough power and midrange on those drivers is said to be great.

i talked to a guy last year at a usaci event, i was getting into sq and was wondering what he thought about rainbows. he said they were good for starters, but the dyn's are where its at. i dont know what series he had but he was competing with dyn's.

i know the dyn dealer in saint louis, compared the dyns to hertz, the dyns were a more .... laid back, kind of sound. very nice, but i like my stuff a little louder and more crisp. plus the dyns are not cheap.

Im actually running both in my truck. I have Rainbow CMX465 kick in my front doors and Dynaudio 142 Mids in the dash. Both sound great. Its all a preference of what you like to listen to. Cant go wrong with either company. But do NOT buy from woofersetc.com. They cannot warranty any of their rainbow products. The US no longer has a distributor so everything is ordered directly from germany.

i want be ordering from woofersect.com... i was just using those links as a refrence. i will be buying an authorised dealer. i wonder if the dyn's reproduce every nusance and bring out bad recordings. i dont wanna speaker that sounds gret with good recording and sound like totall arse with mediocre recordings
