Dust Caps

Anyone know a good place to get a decent dust cap for cheap?

Are the PE poly ones any good? What about the paper ones?

I need two for my Arsenal's, and AA said they'd call me back Monday with more info, but I didn't hear back. I also just contacted Fi about getting a cool Fi logo cap, but I don't know if he'll be able to hook me up.

I'd like one that's 5.5" because there's a groove that the cap sits in (in the Arsenal's cone), but something bigger would also work.

just got the subs (used) and one of the caps is halfway unglued and the other is loose. AA (Chad) said he'd send me out a set when I talked to him Friday. He said he'd give me a call Monday (yesterday) but didn't. I've left a message and an e-mail with no reply. I really wanna get these subs up and running.

Is this what you're thinking of:

They only go up to 5" otherwise I'd probably just get them. Hopefully Scott at Fi can hook me up with something that'll work. Otherwise I'll just have to wait on AA.

anyone with a 12" Fi sub wanna measure the dust cap for me?

if it's not 5.5" i'll stop trying to bother Scott.

also, please mention what model and size you have.

Thanks!

which fi model?

i'm not sure, but the site makes it look like they all have the same size dust cap.

Also, why not put your existing loose DC back on.

I should just do that, I'm really missing bass right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

One should be no problem, but the other is just barely loose, and I'm afraid I'll damage it taking it off.

I guess it'll probably still work, and if I don't like how it looks, I can always just cover it up with the Fi dust cap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Now, what glue to use? ng recommended "goop" to me, but I'm not sure where to find it. If I can't get that what else should I look for (at WalMart/Target).

EDIT: BTW, I blew up Fi's pic of the SSD 12, and it seems the dust cap's diameter is just under half of the sub's OD (12.5"), so I'm guessing it's a 6" cap.

If anyone wants to confirm this, I'm still interested.

Carefully use a utility knife to take it off.

Goop, can be easily had at home depot or lowes... maybe elsewhere as well.

Scott has a bunch of different kinds of dustcaps. His FI isn't the only ones laying around just so you know.

Good luck fixing it

cool, i was hoping he might have a few lying around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

goop today! now that i look at pics i think i've seen it before at HD, but they have a bunch of different kinds. i don't know if they have regular though.

i remember why i didn't try and take the other dust cap off; due to the ridge it sits in i thought i might damage the cone if i tried to pry off the cap.

i'll go at it carefully with a utilty knife, and try not to hurt anything.

what's the cure time on goop?
