dust cap question

i hooked up an ap 1800d to 2 of my rd sonances and the dust cap blew off one of the sonances

would it hurt anything playing them how it is?

Could cause some thermal issues for the voice coil. The dustcap is what forces the air into the motor gap and around the voice coil to cool it. But other than that you'll be fine.

would i be safe then giving the subs 900 rms give or take a piece while rated at 500 w/o the dust cap
