My new amp will not be here by the next show so I was considering running my amp at .5 ohms for around 5 seconds, I can either go .5 ohms or 2 ohms. It’s the zx1500.1. So what I’m beating around the bush about is will that amp handle the .5ohm load for that short of time?

If you are going to have a new amp soon anyway I would go for it.

If it's for a comp it just has to be long enough to get a reading right? I usually have mine on for 1/2 of a second or so. Just long enough to get a reading. Your never going to be louder than that first split second it only goes down hill from there.

That’s what I hoping for, but was worried the amp would just cut out before it even dropped a note! Due to the fact it's only 2ohm stable

I think I’m just out to destroy stuff now, I blew my 15 before the last show so I pulled out my two 12” w3’s to play for this past Saturdays show and they wouldn’t blow as hard as I tried nothing. They just started to smell like off bug spray?
