Ducati 900SS (2002)

I'm in the process of buying this bike. My question is, anyone have one? What do you think of it? It looks GREAT, but how does it handle, brake, and how is it on the power? I've been reading and it doesn't seem as fast as the japense models, and top speed was reported on one site as 140 stock. Anyone know if this is true?

hehe, I like how I'm brought up when it comes to top end bikes....

Your not going to have to worry about your brakes, they're brembo. Probably the best stopping power even compared to the Jap Big 3 makers. Handling on any ducati is superb; light as a feather, and will turn in with ease. Ducati's aren't straight line bikes. If thats what you want, your not even in the right ballpark. They're corner carvers, plain and simple. And just curious, why are you so worried about top speed? Not like your going to ride around 140 everyday, or do you just want that top speed as bragging rights? Do it right, challenge them to a corner-heavy ride and leave them in the dust...

I dont' consider it a "rice-burner" its actually lower powered. I really do like harley's "hogs" but I can't afford one of those right now.

Thanks man! I appreciate the input. Top speed is really not a concern, I just read that they didn't have a very good power band but they were decent to ride. Which confused me as its a pretty nice bike. Also read that top speed was 139 or 141, which seemed kinda slow (strange thing to say I guess) for a bike. It was more for my information on how fast they go. It seems that they are more of a cruising sports bike, not really a performance bike.

I LOVE the way it looks though.

I'm pretty sure that model is more of a cruising sport-bike than a superbike...

Well thats the plan. Just gotta be careful cause I hate using ebay for this kinda stuff. Going to go test it out here in a few days. Don't want to put any money down until I know its legit. Guy tried to take me one other time on a bike.
