Dubstep and square waves

Nah, the way they make it is they have 2 different oscillators setup, a square wave for the mids (that wobble sound), and then a sine wave which is identical to the square wave oscillator, but dropped a few octaves. Though that's not to say something downloaded off youtube isn't clipped. But just keep in mind that dubstep can put a large amount of stress on your subs

Thanks for the info. Does the stress on the subs come from a property of dubstep or just because it is more or less constant bass?
Depends on the song really. Some songs have the bass that goes along with the actual wobble, whereas others have a constant tone with the wobble sort of slapped on top of it.

Been playing dubstep for 2+ years in my car and at shows. Shows range from 1-4 hours of continuous playing (depending on the show) at an excessive volume (At least 3/4 of overall volume). Have yet to have an issue
