Dual type R

Hi guys,

I have a Alpine Type R 1222D and i was thinking of getting another one.

I was just wandering could i two of those subs of an Alpine MRP-M850?

If so would they not be as powerful as one?

Yes, your amp is currently running 500 watts at 4-ohm to your single type-r. Add a second 1222D and your amp will run a combined 800 watts at 2-ohm to the pair, or 400 to each. It should be significantly louder.

my current box is sealed, so hopefully with a ported box it will be alot louder. How important is sound deadening to getting decent bass?
