I read that they recommend 0.6-1.1 per sub ported.

I have been told many things though.

What is the BEST size and tune to use on these subs ported. I will be putting 500 watts per sub

With 500 per sub I'd go with a 1.25-1.5ft^3 box tuned to 33-35hz. Anything in that range will be a pretty solid daily box for them.

I have one in 0.6ft^3 @ 33Hz on 500RMS. Haven't compared with any other sizes/tuning, but it sounds excellent. Amazing little subwoofer.

RAM's suggestion is right on target.
