Dual alternator Help

ok so im finale gonna get my custom bracket made for my astro, but beside that what other concerns should i have as far as wiring goes..my alt guy told me if i run them jumped from stock wires it would change my voltage to 24volts .. how do i get around this if its true? there both 240 amp shop built alts i plan on buying a external voltage regulator from mechman just to boost up voltage to constant 14.9-14.4

i have one xs d3400 in front 4 cnd 400mr in the back he said i can run one for start up an one for system but id rather have them as one big unit together..

help would be appreciated
