---------Dual 4 or dual 2 and other suggestions/help---------

So ive decided to just go with one alpine type R 12 in the ported box, i was planning on using a hifonics amp, the bxi1208d. I was just wondering do you think that amp is ok and if so then which type R should i buy, the dual4ohm or the dual2ohm. The amp is 1 ohm stable so i was thinking i should wire it for 1 ohm and just adjust the gains. How does that sound? Also I was thinking would i need a cap? I was going to go with a 2 farad cap, something like the cheap boss capacitor. Then i would need wiring and be good to go. I have an alpine 9883 and Arc fd4625 up front maybe an Arc amp for the front too. This is just a lil setup to upgrade from stock, nothing fancy. I wanted to get some fill for the ported box too, any suggestions would be apprieciated guys. thanks in advance.

get a D2 and forget about the cap,good batt up front should suffice,if it doesnt,add the big 3

so wait on the cap? i think i got one of the yellow everstart batteries. D2 is better for 1 ohm, can D4 go down to 1 ohm? THe reason i ask is I can get the D4 for almost $30 cheaper.

no dont get a cap.

D2 sub wires to 1ohm, D4 wires to 2ohm.

big 3 is between alt/batt/chassis.

D4 can not be wired to 1 ohm,only 2 ohms,the D2 wired to 1 ohm will be a lil louder than D4 wired to 2 ohm,guess you could get a cap if you want something to look pretty,they really are a waste of money.big 3 is alt,engine to chassis,batt ground to chassis

firget about the cap, a waste of money, use that money to get a good batt fr under the hood. Do the big 3 like they said. And if possible get 0awg wire. 4aw wouldwork but u might as well and get 0 just incase o u ever upgrade again. BTW A guy on thi forum has 2 Type R 12s on a IA 40.1.
