I think its said that 3 runs of similar gauge are equal to 1 run of the next gauge up...

correction: 2 4's are actually bigger than 2 ga, just about equal to 1 ga (not 1/0)

The ans. is yes it does. The 4 ga. wire is thicker then the 2 ga. for flexability.
