Dual 10" setup for less than $400?

Hi, I'm relatively knew to this, I've got a hack-job dual 12 setup in at the moment, but I want to upgrade to something decent (In comparison)

I have a max of $400us for subs and amp, but would preferably like to spent less, as I am ordering online and transport and duty fees will bump up the price.

I'm really looking for a 2x 10 setup, I had a look on http://www.thezeb.com and was interested in this:

2x Audiobahn AW1000X 10" (600watts rms) @ 79.99 ea

Power Acoustik GOTHIC OV2-1200 (300x2 @ 2ohms) 199.99

The subs are 4ohm dvc. Will this amp suit it? would it be underpowered?

What other similar or more suitable setups are there?

I'm not trying to break world records here (or enter any sort of competition at all)

Thanks for any advice.

i would definitely not get audiobahns. check out some of the audio stores around where you live and see if any of them are currently doing a buy one get one free on any good 10s. i have also seen some entry level rockford amps for between 150-250. check out the punch z subs, they are not the best but 400 dollars for an amp and subs does not leave a person with too many options. also most rockford amps are stable and most efficient at 2 ohms so if you get one all you need is two single voice coil 4 ohm subs in paralell.

The JBL/Elemental K sounds like a good combination. The amp is 600rms @ 2ohms. Would I need the dual 2 ohm model to be able to run 300rms into each?

I live in NZ by the way, we dont get very good deals on car audio, It's always cheaper to buy elsewhere.

Thanks again

The JBL amp is 600 at 1 or 2 ohms, so you could get the dual 4's or the dual 2's.

this is exactly what i would recommend..if you can wait until next month. also, w/ shipping it might run you just over 400

Go to ikesound.com and pick up the type r's and a JBL 600.1. Might not be quite enough watts but you could upgrade to the 1200.1 for a little. Anyway the first setup should be around your budget and ikesound offers free shipping and good service. I just bought a type r and the 600.1 for a little over $300 shipped to hawaii!

Id look into the RE SE 10's. I just bought a HC 15 and im waiting for it to get here, it comes friday. They are supposed to be great woofers lots of people rant and rave about them on termpro. Also the elementals look bangin good for the $$$

I'm quite likeing the idea of 2 elementals and the JBL amp. The elementals sound like pretty good value from what I've read.

If the JBL can run at 1 ohm stable then should I get dual 4 ohm subs to get more power out of it?
