DSL tomorrow!

Ok finally ill have DSL tommorrow and be able to download stuff that would never be possible on dialup right now id like to know all the things that are good for me to download. Like virus programs since i have none, torrent programs, any other programs that may be cool or programs i may need for my computer. May be a dumb thread but it would really help out thanks alot

you need a firewall. try zonealarm. free. works.

avg antivirus any good still? they used to be great for a free antivirus program but i haven't used them for a few years now.(norton now)

you can now get service pack 2 for windows(a ton easier to dl on dsl)

i'm going back to dsl on the 5th. i got the same speeds on dsl as i do on the wireless i have now, but the wireless is about twice the price.

Ok ill try these out, i wont know my official connection speed until tommorrow, but its quoted at 3mbps at 35 a month i think.

Oh man, DSl is alot faster than dialup, its like opening a new world of internet,i could never switch to dial up. i prolly wouldnt use the compuiter. lol

ditch that shit and get Cable or come to NY and get FIOS from Verizon, 2x as fast as cable, and our cable here is the fastest in the country.

I cant wait till that hits this part of ny. I had cable for a few yrs and moved and my new place cable is included in the rent so I got dsl nothing like cable though.
