appreciate the help..took some ibprofen today and still cant move my tow but my foot does "feel" better.

yes, raise it, ice it, and ibuprofen to the max, thats what I did for my ankle when I stretched ligaments, and it healed pretty **** fast.

I think the rule is like 15-20 of ice, than double that amount of time with out the ice than repeat.. (correct me if im wrong)

Never broken a toe so I don't know how bad it hurts.. But this right here hurt pretty bad! And I think my feet may be more nappy than his..

I was getting into a 3 speed work cart at work.. I always wear sandals (i work on a golf course).. I hopped right into the cart and slung my right big toenail directly into a brake pedal that sticks out a little too far.. Ripped my uppertoenail completly loose while the bottom was still deeply embedded.. I wanted to cry! Three weeks later and now I have no toe-nail and no pain!

edit: i also wear sandels alot so i guess that would explain the nastynest, that and the fact that i rarely take feet showers.

I sprain my ankle all the time, Go 10-15 minutes ice on it, then like 5 mins with a hot rag then ice again and back and forth till you get tired of it.

After playing basketball and football (as a receiver) from 3rd grade until i graduated high school, I am the king of sprained ankles.

Ice them for a full week after you injure yourself.

If its a serious sprain (most people don't have high sprains), JUST STAY OFF OF IT FOR LIKE A MONTH.

It's a serious injury and "nagging" best explains it. My first basketball game after my second serious sprain resulted in an immediate sprain. That was after a good three weeks of rest too.

Please do not risk it. A serious sprained ankle is nothing to try to play on.

By the way SBCaprice- that big toe looks bad! Good luck doing anything athletic on that thing for awhile.
