Driving with a C-Pillar wall

So, I am going to be building a C-Pillar wall in my SUV soon and my brother has been arguing with me for days now saying its an accident waiting to happen. He thinks that its very dangerous to have a daily driver setup with a C-Pillar wall because it will obstruct blind spots and other things. Anyone with a third row wall have any opinion on this?

Driving with a wall at all with obstuct blind spots, and could possibly cause you to have an accident. I had a wall in my 86 Capri hatch, and it was no different to me driving, because I never use the rear view anyway. Ofcourse it wasn't a huge truck either.

driving with a wall is like driving with no center rear view mirror. as long as you got your side mirrors you will be fine. the only downside i see is when you are backing up. a camera like mentioned will take care of that.

It depends on how good of a driver you are.

Ask yourself this, can you back into a driveway or navigate cones in reverse using only your side mirrors?

If your on the fence, another item to keep in mind. Depending on your state (if they even have inspections), you may need to remove the wall to pass inspection..

^^ yeah i havent had a rearview mirror in years anyways lol, they started falling off when i had 4 10"s sealed, so i didnt notice a difference driving at all. only when im backing up, sometimes i have to get out and make sure there are no cars lol. small sporty mirrors FTL, i cant see shit in a 3" mirror //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

but i can back up just fine using the mirrors now, you will just have to get used to it more

that's what I figured.. I have huge side mirrors anyways and I plan on getting a backup camera as well as those little circle blind spot mirrors and it really shouldn't be a problem.

I dont know what type of SUV you have but you should not have any blind spots that far back in it other then blocking the back window. If you really want to test it out befor you do it either throw a bunch of stuff in the back to fill up the windows or cover them with paper or blankets and take a test drive.
