i'm not sure anyone knows who's really the fastest player in the world. i saw steve vai live and it was just ridiculous. yngvie malmsteen is wicked fast too. the fastest i've ever heard but never seen is Michael Angelo Batio

that's an example of 1 kind of scale. playing in order from bottom to top and back again is running the scale. it can be done extremely fast. jumping around that scale and changing speeds within rythm and maybe adding bends, chords, harmonics, etc. is playing music.

wrong. Michael Angelo Batio is faster, and reputed as such. malmsteen is fast to be sure, but i think even steve vai is faster, cleaner and plays a much more difficult genre of music.

Amazing musicians. Too bad I get the feeling I'm at a rennasance fair every time I listen to them. Wish they did heavier, less progressive stuff with their talent, and got a singer with lower, growling, hardcore voice.

They are pretty awesome! I saw them live w/ KSE, and Chimera.. They were ****ing amazing.. Sucks when bands are only good in recording studios.. Truly though.. That's what I was expecting.. For them to be shitty live.. But they weren't!
