Down firing

Sounds good to me, should be loud a fawk.
The only problem is I don't really have the $$$ to buy all the materials for this box, I'm some building a 24.5 x 24.5 x 24.5 box tuned to 34hz to hold me down until i get the time/money to build that one.

See, that's the point I would buy more woofers than be pretty. My ish is ugly but dang 2 18"s sure turns me on.
I like looking good too, this 18 will be louder than any body elses setup around here, so I might as well have the best box too

I've got my next build already planned out, I'm slightly going to increase my cone area every time I do something new, first I had 2 12's, now i'm gonna have a single 18, next I'm hoping to have 2 3515's on 3k

Hmm, I like 3500's. Why not do 4 1500's or 2500's on 3k? Cone area is your friend.
but see, I don't want to go up in huge increases like that, I want the next setup to have just a little more cone area, and then like 1000 more watts goig to the woofers.

I really like your avatar. Batcap is the way to go!
thanks, the girls aren't half bad either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm thinking I'm just gonna do that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif this whole aero port thing is hard, lol
I tried aeros a couple years ago and gave up...I always hit better numbers with slot ports (I know theoretically aeros are better) just depends what you do with them

my ish is always ugly. I've never carpeted any of my boxes

do it once, do it right...just go big //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

There is nothing about a down-firing setup that will inherently lose output, assuming its implemented correctly.

Down-firing will not create a quasi-bandpass effect if the space under the enclosure that the sound escapes from is considerably larger than your port area. Some simple calculations should tell you if this is going to happen or not.

Bandpass enclosures can work extremely well for a daily system, again if implemented correctly.
