Down firing or up firing subwoofer?

you just dont have the room to do a forward fire (looking at the ebay pics)unless you do a seat lift. Your best bet is a down fire with a shallow mount.

There are 4 SA 8's under this back seat. I can't tell if there is a seat lift.

What do you mean "spl surround"

Sundown x and zv4 lines have a mega roll surround that focuses on lows and has a linear sound. You can switch it out with an spl surround that has a more traditional sound, that gets louder.

Thanks. I would think two 8's would be better in that small of an enclosure ported would be better than four.

They are rated 500 watts rms each, so,,,, what kind of amp would be optimal for them?

Back in the day sound stream and hifonics were great amps. I've read mixed reviews.

Any thoughts ? I just measured from the floor to the bottom of the seat and its 8.25"

UPDATE:: after looking closer at the stealth box from JL Audio, I learned that it actually fits under the back seat, behind the drives seat, and fires backward toward the bed.

I had always thought it was suppose to mount under the passenger seat, and fire back.

This info leads me to believe that a custom ported box could be built for the SA 8s, and have them fire backward like the JL, and do a bit better than the w7s
