ok, so im putting an xxx in a extend cab truck for a friend, but i wanted to know, is it worth me building a down firing box in a truck, whats the pros and cons of that style, or is it better to face them angled at the back window or facing straight into the front seats, im guesing a no no for the last one. and by difference i mean both sq and spl.

why no no for the last option?...i ve been running subs in my ext cab ranger for a couple of years now an have found it better for the subs to face the front...recently i remover one of the stupid seats in the back and made a fibeg- glass enclosue that fit int to the hole that the missing seat left..the sub now fires diagonally across the cab from behind the passenger seat toward the driver seat ...i found this to work best for me

Dont use down firing......gravity will pull thew cone down while playing at high XMAX and cause it not to play as loud as it can. Front firing is the best because gravity has no effect on the cone so it allows the cone to reach its XMAX at its highest SPL. Otherwise in a downfiring it will reach XMAX before it reaches max SPL
