My portfolio is taking a shit kicking. Worst thing up here are the people who somehow think Canada won't follow the US and rest of the world into the shitter. I was going to buy a condo in the next month of so, in a sad, twisted way I'm glad this happened before I dropped down the cash :/

The market is cyclical, its happened before and will again. There has to be a correction. In 1987-1990 that market was as low as 8000, we will probably see close to that again. It always comes back, thats why in the long term buy and hold is always better.

the market being as low as 8000 would be worse today than it was in 1987. the european and japanese markets are dropping like a rock right now. this is going to get bad, and will open the door for a world bank and a single world currency.
