when people buy cars just for the name? people around here buy mercedes C240 just to say.."i have a mercedes". then ther you have the Z3 2.3 liter engine cars. they just want the BMW name and run around thinking they are all cool. and i have this one guy at my school that said.."i'm getting a mustang..its V6". she acts like she knows cars and V6 is all she knows about the **** car. can't forget about people who say.."I have a convertible!", and then you look at it and its actually a cheapo old 1970 volkswagen. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Originally posted by Jmac Well, first of all, the Z3 comes in 2.5 litre and 3 litre, get it right ...

Secondly, the 2.5 litre makes over 200 horsepower and weighs a little over 2500 pounds. Handles great, does 0-60 under 6 seconds, 60-0 in under 115 feet, etc. What's your problem with that ?
i dont know what his problem is.....but heres mine.....i have driven the 2.5 litre z3 and mazdas miata and the cars are almost identicle in handling, the beamer has a few extras inside, but the cars are almost exaclty the same!! yet there is a 10g difference in price....thats my problem....top end bmw's and benz are nice as hell, i mean you tell me your driving an m5 and i go.....****....or a 740i? hell yeah, but the poeple in z3's are "imitation ballers" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif as for the mustang thing...i know what you mean, you just want to be like, hmmm....so she read what the bumper says "mustang v6" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif thats when you just hit them with questions to confuse her, like "you have an rp stage 1 or 2 in there? (both types o clutches) and i they respond furhter question weather its a 5 or 6 speed stick....this happened to me...the guy went on to say his car was an automatic....wow i laughed for like 3 days.....whats the deal with cars, if you dont know about them, dont talk about them, you dont hear car guys talking about the latest surgeries, or other topics they have no clue about.

not this one my friend..

http://autos.msn.com/vip/engines.aspx?modelid=174&src=vip

people in my area just go buy it for the name. they buy the oldest BMW (in this case 96 and 97) that LOOKS like the new ones and think no one will notice and the makes them seem "cool". 1.9Liter of pure fury! better watch out! although there are some people that buy the new Z3's for the performance (optional 2.8L) the 2.8liter engine is a sweet engine. my cousin has a 1997 328i sedan with twin turbo. dyno'ed at about 450whp. i'll try to get pictures up sometime. the hard part is to not let the cops know you have custom turbo under the hood. cali laws are //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif .

going off topic again..where was i..oh yea..i don't like that girl at my school:D

Well, first of all, the Z3 comes in 2.5 litre and 3 litre, get it right ...
actually they come in 1.9, 2.3, and 2.8. and 3.0..get THAT right

Sorry Gsteg but Jmac is right.

The 2002 BMW Z3 comes with only 2 engines. The 2.5L 184 HP Inline 6 (Roadster 2.5i) or the 3.0L 225 HP Inline 6 (Roadster 3.0i).

I'm surrounded by people like that.

My friend down my street has a brand new Miata. My other friend has a 2002 brand new corvette, a Yukon XL, and that anniversary style Pontiac Transam (1999 I think). Then my other friend has a completely restored Chevy '55 Bel Air...

Bastards

i'm not talking about the new ones!! the old ones like the 96 and 97 which came with 1.9L engines. people around here buy the cheapest one just to get the name of the car, the status, etc... now if its the newer ones with the 2.8 or 3.0, its ok with me:eek:

BMW offered 4 engine to the Z3, but not all were offered at the same time. you guys make it seem like the Z3 came out in 2002 or something. theres the 1996 and 1997 too ya know (the torqueless goat)//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

gsteg's right...the z3's have been around awhile...and have used 4 different engines....

to the reaper..i'd take the vette..then the bel-air..throw the rest away..

me..i got a truck..'nuff said...

hehe

Have you seen the 35th Anniversary Trans Ams? Those are some sweet ass cars. They can hang up there with a Corvette. I personally wouldn't mind any of those cars. If they're new their better than mine.
