Dont Pump Gas on May 15th

lol i work at a gas station. and something like this will never work. let me tell ya why.1. you will never get enough people together to make the smallest impact. Our income varies between 5-30% everyday. so their wont be a much noticed difference.
2.Lets say u do decide to not pump gas on may 15, yet you have to go to work the 14th, 15, and 16th. Well you are either going to fill up on the 14th or the 16th. either way the company is still getting their money regardless of what day it is.

3.This is what i hope happens. I do hope there is a good turnout, and that no one pumps gas on the 15th. My boss will drop the prices to 1.50$ a gallon on the 15th, to temp people to come in. Then the next day, i would count on gas being 3.75$
HA HA HA HA....Just thought that this was funny. "I work at a gas station now let me explain global economics to ya'll" ROFL

You work at a gas station bub, why not get me a slurpy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I don't have the time to read the entire thread. So I am sure this has already been said, but I will say it again.

This will not have any effect on gas prices. And will not work. Do a basic google search on pumping gas may 15th and you can read why.

Second of all, the only way to lower gas prices would be by consuming less gas. Not pumping on one day, and having everyone buy more the next day would do nothing.

I work at a gas station and I am 100% positive I know 10X more about gas prices/oil economics than you ever will. Now go get your fat *** that slurpy!

so we ***** iraq of everything but their oil. nice
this war isnt about oil. this war is about power. The have control of oil...yes...but who do you think controls the disribution centers? WE DO!!!! The oil prices are combination of our own governemtn raising the prices and them. We are raising the price more then they are. our government is corrupted with money and how they can control us. This is just another way.

ALthough many people wont believe this...my cousin was in desert storm and saw some incidents first hand about what they care about. The middle eastern just want owed what they feel is theirs and to perfrom what their religion states is right...although its wrong. They do what their taught, just as americans do...we just have a better view on LIFE

I think the who gas price thing IS technically illegal. It is an illegal monopoly on the marketplace with HUGE price gouging. The FTC went after Microsoft back in 94 for monopoly when there WERE major competing companies. Now we have Exxon gouging prices extrordinarly high when oil supply is higher then it has been for years and they are recording record profits every day. That sounds pretty illegal to me. Too bad corruption has led the government to forget about the good of the people.

Additionally, what do you think this is doing to the economy? It is REALLY hurting it. If you think otherwise, you are a ****tard and deserve to drown in a barrel of crude oil. Gas needs will remain the same (and/or increase) as long as we have vehicles using petrol based fuels with near the same fuel economy. All americans are paying more then ever for their gas and it is hurting their ability to purchase other, luxury items, which frankly is most of what is sold. This causes companies to bring in less money with causes people to lose jobs, and the downward spiral moves forth.

If it continues, it will ruin the economy. Period.

The cheapest gas in my area yesterday was $3.79 / gallon (I have to use premium). Forget talks about gas reaching $4.00 a gallon next summer. Its only 21 cents away as it is, talk a few months.

Will the gas strike on the 15th work? Maybe, maybe not.

I say what matters it is the fact that the American people are willing to unite to protest the financial raping that is going on.

Think about this: If everyone who said, "I would do it, but it's not like its going to make a difference", actually went and did not purchase gas on the 15th, it WOULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Its ultimately your choice. I know which one I will be making. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsupwink.gif.129404938effda6ad9cca39e7f4b58a3.gif

did you fellas forget the theres state sale tax on each gallon of gas?? Well NY does anyways, why isnt the government doing anything because their making money too. Gas in my area is $3.11 today, minus state tax and fees its about $2.20 a gallon if not cheaper. Another thing to think about is the US/Canada use the most energy in the world from our huge suv's/trucks to leisure vehicles such as 4-wheelers, snow sleds... Have you noticed a lot of people selling their RV's and big vehicles and buying smaller vehicles. Its another way to push car manufactures in producing more fuel efficient vehicles. In my opinion this country is not the land of the free anymore. They have way to many stupid @ss laws and tax everything. By keeping the gas prices high it forces some people not to use those big vehicles and leisure vehicles, go on trips.... basically forcing you to stay home and go to work. Has anyone ever figured out how much they actually bring home in their paycheck?? They tax your check, tax your gas, tax clothes, tax your land, tax your house. After thinking about it I assume people actually see 1/4 of the net pay of their check thats not taxed after all purchases //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Its almost costing me more in gas than it is to pay my car off.

My car payment---$336

insurance--$70

registration--$50

State inspection--$15.00

gas for a month---$360 Its costing me more to drive the f'r than it costs to own it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Im not buying gas on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th im gonna fill both my vehicles on the 12th and when 1 gets low im switching to the other to go to work.

im done ranting sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

IF everyone just didnt drive as much or if america wasnt oil hungry prices would be lower one day wont help one week wont help either. Just dont drive when you dont have to youll save money and mileage. Aslo for all the people who dont need a huge suv dont buy it. I know 5 girls who drive big suvs and dont ever take more than 1 person in it so thats pointless. They should be sold to people who wont use them for the full purpose. I use my truck for work and its used everyday. now my friend doesnt use his beside to drive around cause he thought a truck would be cool he pumps twice a week- pointless

I bought gas on the way to work.

A much more effective ad campaign would be

EVERYONE CARPOOL/ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION ON MAY 15. Instead of displaced demand, you would actual have a reduction in demand. You wouldn't fill up the next day, week, etc as the demand had been deleted.
