I know it's all install. I already have 0 gauge wiring and have pretty good box building skills.

I don't have a lot of room to work with since its a saturn sl2, but would like to have cleaner bass and get louder to keep up with the guys who have suvs and cars which seem easy to get loud. The only thing is....i'm decreasing wattage from 1100 to somewhere around 600-700 (save strain on my alt and electrical).

What ideas do you have for me to get just as loud? I'm trying this out because a member on here a long time ago said something like "people are always concerned about the lack of watts and focus on nothing else." I want that wow factor when my sounds better and louder than guys running they're "3,000 watt amps" and tell them I'm only running 600. Everyone around my town seems to think the more watts someone has, theyre stuff is automatically louder without hearing either stereo.

Amp- $250 (efficient, good build, and clean)

Subs-

Enclosure- give me some ideas (max is about 34W X 13-14H X 24D)

so you want SUV loudness in a saturn and you want to do it with 600 watts.....................just throwing this out there but i think you are reaching a bit high

Ummm...

only thing I can think of for you to get loud that cheap is 2 12" type-r's, and you would need more power than 600 watts

I know it's a little bigger than my sc1 but I've have some knowledge of what works in these cars. 2-10's are your best bet, a bigger box for 12" subs ruins the loading of the car. We were able to do 148.9 on the termlab, outlaw style with 2-10" ads subs and a jbl 1200.1 two years ago. If you want to know more pm or email me. We are in the middle of a rebuild and new equipment to get to 150+ db next season.

If you're constraining yourself to a maximum size, you'll never get the results you're after unless you increase power.
