Hey, I have a subaru impreza 2.5i Sedan, and I would like some better stuff for it, as it has a **** sound system right now. i emailed a local car audio store near me and this is what he emailed me back.
The front speakers have to be very shallow mounting speakers due to the mounting depth on Subarus. That leaves you with little choices. Usually I use Kenwood speakers because they make a speaker that has a smaller magnet. A pair of 6 1/2 " speakers for the front would cost $60. The rears don't have to be as shallow because the window does not roll down all the way. A pair of Kenwood speakers for the rear would be $75.
For the subwoofer and amplifier, a JL Audio single 10w1 in a ported enclosure would be $200. The amplifier would be an Alpine MRP-M450 for $185. Installation of the speakers will cost $65. The amplifier installtion will be $125. If the radio in your car is the factory headunit, an additional part will be needed called a line out converter. That would be $75 installed. Your total cost would be $710 to $785.
Is that a good deal? Also, what do you think I should get for my car, and my budget is around 750, I just want better sound and the ability to blast it without it getting crackley and sounding like ****. Also, a little bass would be nice, Thanks for reading this.
