Don (6spdcoupe)...look what I FINALLY got today!!!!

I was thinking about getting the Germs, but these bastards look so much better. The rubber surround, basket, and tweeters are so much beefer in comparision to the Germs. Does the preformance justify the price? If so... I might have to copy you brypink.

Germs are considered Rainbows entry level competition set.

Power line CS ARE straight up a competition grade juggernaut, price reflecting of course. Not only is the SQ phenomenal and they are fast and effortless- they would be the focus of a LOUD system as well. That tweeter is unreal, no other way to describe it. I own the Platinum tweeters AND the Profi Cal26 silks...and I cant lie, I've told Don this and brypink a while ago...I MISS those Cal27's. Thats a fun tweeter, it doesnt know what strain is.

I never owned the midbasses, but the pictures speak for themselves. That xover is about as big as the surface the mid, and thats 7"s

The Absolute Only drawback to that tweeter is the surface mounting structure. Ive ran the original 25s both silk and aluminum,CAL26s..both silk and Titantium and the CAL27s prior to the CAL28 Platinums. The CAL27s are surely missed, they took Gobs of power and asked for more while mainting control through it all.

The entire set, of course including midbasses I have installed a few times, hands down Excellent control under pressure from a beefy frontstage.

While the Germs are certainly great sounding and fun to play with the crossovers, the CS set is in a league of its own.

mini-sub------ and awsome tweeter?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

$950 sir.

In simple terms...it doesnt.
I was thinking about having 2 pairs of CMX for front and rear, but now i changed my mind and just get one pair for the front. around $600, the Profi Line and Profi Vanadium Line are more in my budget.

PS: ive herd the ArcAudio and Zapco amps are underrated ( in watts) , is that true?

Hey Don, Bryan was checking with you on a price for me but, I might as well go straight to you. Can you pm me a price on the SLC 260 Kick 2 x 2 upgrade? And do you think they would work well with a set of Contour 5.25" comps? Same vehicle as Bryan. My Contours are in Q logic kick panels and I was going to put the new mids in the doors. All run off an Arc 2100XXK. I assume at 2 ohm. Thanks.

Just to be fair, what other sets have you owned? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
I'm 40 yrs old and dabbling in car audio since I was 15...granted, never like this system I have now. I remember what I thought was my first pair of high end speakers...Alpine 6x9s...6988s, IIRC. lol Man that was a long time ago. I also remember my first Stillwater Designs 3-way box system. Use to set that up on top of the truck at the lake...you were cool if you had one of those. I've kinda evolved over the years.

Over the years I've had a pair of most of the major brands...Alpine, Boston, Kicker, RF, JL, Kenwood, Pioneer, Polk, MB Quart, etc...More recently...Focals, DLS, CDT, Morel...I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Manuel - Yeah, they are more than I expected. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Don - Thanks Bro. Did you get the SLs in? I'll be sending these other speakers back this weekend. I also need to call you tomorrow about our other arrangement.

I got them installed tonight and all I can say is WOW!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif
It's amazing how they sound and I love that CAL27 tweeter. Very dynamic, accurate and not the least bit harsh. Those monster mids just slam the midbass. Sounds like I have dual kick drums up front on my floor board. I had to initially tweak them down on the GEQ because I'm used to bumping my mids up a bit.

I'm not done tweaking but all in all these things are simply amazing...I'm convinced there isn't a better set out there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
